Welcome to the world of scientific wonder.

Erevna Media LLC was born out of the overwhelming need of scientific communication during the COVID pandemic. During that time, the scientific communication was as prolific as it was variable. Because of that experience, we identified three major needs for communicating science:

need for more trusted and vetted sources of scientific information
need for more engagement with science on a regular basis, not just during a pandemic
need to make science fun and accessible

To address these needs, Erevna Media aims to provide a space for scientific communication that is driven by openness, inclusion, and data. We are committed to bringing fun and engaging scientific content that is always based on the available evidence.

In addition to curating this website and producing podcasts, Erevna Media also provides consulting services in the biomedical, global health and engineering spaces to further scientific discoveries.

We are two overly curious PhDs who want to bring back the feelings of delight and scientific wonder that we felt when we were young.

Founder and CEO

Dr. Alexis Katsis

Seattle-based philanthropic organization. Alexis brings her expertise in global health and infectious disease and experience as a leader to Erevna Media.

She graduated from the George Washington University with a Masters in Public Health Microbiology and a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology and has worked at the NIH, CDC and for small and large pharmaceutical companies.

After her PhD, Alexis left the laboratory to pursue a career in facilitating and disseminating science, working first at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and then in a leadership position at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center, leading a team of 10 data managers in charge of all the laboratory data for over 70 HIV and COVID clinical trials.

In her free time, Alexis is the creative force behind the LuxeSci podcast, an experimenter in the kitchen and an avid reader.

Dr. Lex is passionate about science communication, the perfect cocktail and learning different styles of dance.

CTO and Contributor

Dr. Dimos Katsis

Dr. Dimos is a former Principal Engineer at New Glenn's embedded systems team after a year leading design work for engine and launch vehicle avionics. Dimos has also been an product developer, consulting electrical engineer and solar energy expert.

He graduated from Virginia Tech, getting his Bachelors and Masters Degrees and PhD, with a keen interest and expertise in power electronics. He started his career at GE Industrial Systems before moving to the US Army Research Laboratory. Soon, the entrepreneurial itch took hold and Dimos started his own company focused on designing and producing solar power inverters and self-contained power storage systems for homes. During that time, he also consulted for GM on hybrid electric busses, Apollo Solar, General Electric Lighting, and Rolls Royce. In his spare time, Dimos has worked as an instructor in the engineering programs at Johns Hopkins University, learned how to brew beer and bake bread and remains an avid runner.

Dr. Dimos is passionate about renewal energy, effective trash management and personally contributes to keeping items out of the waste stream by fixing anything and everything he possibly can.
